Too much sludge in the lake and kayaks here
The staff was nice. We were told to kayak the inland area due to heavy boat traffic, however the inland lake area is covered with lily pads and weeds. Was very hard to push through it was so thick. We took our chance and kayaked to the beach, heavier traffic for sure but less lake sludge. The kayaks were sub par, they are the very cheap ones with drain holes in the bottom. We sat in lake sludge our entire trip, was very concerning the amount of garbage cans and debris in the lake as well as the foam, looked like pollution coming up into the kayak while we were paddling. We did ask for different kayaks, we are used to not having to sit in the water while kayaking, and was told that this is standard for kayaking.
