Beautiful, well-maintained small state park

Silver Lake State Park is almost 3,000-acres along the Lake Michigan shoreline. This area includes both dune country and acres of mature forest and the only sand dune off-road vehicle area in east of the Mississippi River. Our 200 site campground is the only campground in the area that is located along the shoreline of Silver Lake.

    Worthwhile location!
Great place for a small local vacation! The sand dunes are beautiful to see and a bit harder to walk. They are beautiful after a rainfall. Need a state park pass to drive in and park in the pedestrian area. None if walking in without a car. Can get a state park pass at the booth with cash or main visitor center with a credit card. Can walk out to Lake Michigan. It may be a quite a hike though. There is a beach area as well but once again have to hike to it first. There is a different area for off road vehicles, orv, and then an area for mac woods rides.

    Small Beach but very nice
Nice, clean beach with picnic facilities, a playground, volleybal court and plenty of places to sit. Water is very shallow for quite a distance so there's plenty of room to play in the lake. Beach is very small, so expect crowding,
