Beautiful Trail East of S. Brady Street on the North Side of Michigan Avenue

River Rouge Path: East end of Andiamo's Parking Lot all the way to Hines Park. This is a really beautiful area to walk through in fragrant forest and the many bridges over the Rouge River, paved path for joggers, bikers, casual walkers...etc. You will be able to view the Henry Ford Estate on your left and The UM-Dearborn's beautiful campus on the right, walking south to north. The Environmental Interpretive Center (on your left) maintains Rain Gardens, Organic Garden, Mushroom Garden & Bee-Keeping of UM-Dearborn. Then you walk behind Henry Ford College (on the right) and down to your left is a walkway to Hines over another bridge and under Ford Road. Enjoy!

Loud, Lights, A Real Working Factory
You begin this tour taking a bus from the Museum to the factory. There are two initial videos that you watch and then you move on to the rooftop visit. The first video is about the history of Ford as well as the making of the Model T and the factory itself. The next video goes into how a car is made on an assembly line and how quality and inspections are performed. This includes lights, sound and smoke! It really was fun. You then move into the outdoor rooftop view where they show how the company has gone green for both the factory as well as the environment. You then move on to the factory itself and you can enjoy as much time as you would like viewing the employees putting pieces on the Ford F-150. It was neat watching how the sunroof and the windows are installed. Some is by employee and most is by robots! Watching the doors being installed in an assembly line was really exciting to see the car from one point to the end! I would state that this was my 2nd favorite from visiting the For complex. 1st would be the village with the actual Ford Museum being in 3rd place (which is funny because that is why we visited in the first place).

Bucolic beauty and history all rolled into one!
The trail that passes behind Andiamos Restaurant on Michigan Avenue is thickly wooded, and serene. And it takes you right to the front door of Fair Lane, the estate of Henry Ford built in 1915. The meadow next to the house leads to a network of wooded trails that wander for miles.
