Great trail

Phenomenal, smooth asphalt trail. Lots of places to stop for water refills or restroom breaks. The 60 mile loop Rome Midland to Clare & back is gorgeous. Clare is bustling with good eating options and the starting point in Midland is at the Farmers Market.

    Deluxe paved bike trail
    We rode the paved Pere Marquette Rail Trail from Midland to Coleman and back. About 70 kilometers (43 Miles). Nice and wide with comfort stations every few miles. Some small towns along the way to buy water and snacks. The trail is very, very straight and little elevation change. It does cross roads every few miles but there are some long stretches without stopping. A few interesting bridges crossing small rivers. Most of the trail was lined with trees with breaks in spots to provide a view.

    Best bike trail Ever
    The trail was so smooth and flat. We left on our bikes from Clare MI and rode to Midland MI. It was a nice downhill grade all the way with the wind behind us. So many rest areas with water, restrooms, tables and benches along the way. There was a few long stretches out in the sun. We stopped at Alex's Railroad crossing Restaurant on the way. Small town restaurant. You felt like you walked onto the set of Friends. They new you by name. We had the buffet very good.
