Interesting place with local charm
An enjoyable outing that doesn't take all day to get to. Tons of things to look at both new and old. It's largely indoors so if it's a bad weather day, it doesn't spoil your plans. There's a section with Christmas décor, upstairs has Halloween and the "boutique" section is guaranteed to bring on that "awwwe" moment. It's just a cute place! Across the lot is the antique store to bring back memories of grandma's house. There's a small food area and cider, donuts and ice cream can be enjoyed. During the fall there's also a great Halloween attraction.

A Michigan Treasure
I have lived in Michigan most of my life. When I was in high school, I lived just down the road from what became known as Past Tense Antiques. My mother was an avid “antiquer” so having an antique store less than two miles away was exciting. After ten years out of state, my young family and I moved back to Michigan, and once again found ourselves within a mile or two of Past Tense. By this time, the business had grown and continued attracting attention from people far and wide. Today, Past Tense is a destination where anyone can enjoy shopping a wide variety of items from Halloween to Christmas decorations, garden, floral, candles, candy, cards, country, and yes, antiques. Past Tense is also a great place for lunch or dinner. The quaint and cozy restaurant located in the cider mill is comfortable, and the food is great. The cider and donuts offered at the mill are excellent. You won’t find a better cider anywhere. Past Tense has been a thriving business in Lapeer County for many years, and every indication is that it will continue to be so for many years to come.

Don't miss this sweet stop!
We were on a long drive up to Mackinaw City and were looking for a brief stop for fun. We arrived about 9:45am and although the shop wasn't officially open the lovely staff saw us pull up and opened early. We are so glad they did! We wandered around this very large maze of a store finding more treasures with each corner we turned. Everyone inside was so friendly and welcoming. We indeed found several must have items and spent about an hour having fun looking around. The artificial flowers that Celeste creates are so life like that we were shocked to learn they weren't real! She has customers from around the US that come to have her create masterpieces for their weddings and other special events. We also stopped over for a delicious donut and even peeked around their lovely antique shop. Can't say it enough-stop here on your travels-worth it!
