Nelson's Farm Market, Michigan, United States

4.5 (15 reviews) Tuesday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Spent Ranking #1 in Newaygo County Farmers Markets

Great fall farm market for families on a budget.

Honestly, this is not the BEST farm market around to visit in the fall. But we think it is the best one you can visit for FREE. So many places charge you just to wander around now, but Nelson's doesn't. There is a barn with critters to look at, tractors to play and pose on, a u-pick pumpkin patch, and bins of every variety of apple to dig through for purchase. (Wear old shoes, the barn area can be quite a mess.) One time in many years of visits, the kids got a wagon ride here, but don't go there expecting it. Nelson's let you pull their wagons around to fill with your pumpkins, mums, and fruit. There is a bakery in the back of the market-but skip it! Just down the road on M-37 is the Hilltop Bakery, and their donuts are better! If you go with kids, plan on spending about an hour. Go when it has been dry for a few days or you will be wading through ankle-deep mud. And find a bathroom nearby before you go there, otherwise you'll have to use the port-a-john.

Family owned and operated farm market.
Fresh fruits and vegetables in season. Nice little barn with animals for the kids to pet and feed. Beautiful flower baskets, perennials, and bedding plants in the spring.

    Local farmer's market type store
Freat local market Nelson's always does a great job of stocking produce and has really good donuts in their backshop. Farm fresh. Especially in season.
