Mount Ojibway Trail, Michigan, United States

Stunning view from the lookout tower

After renting a skiff at Rock Harbor, we boated to Daisy Farm campground and embarked on the hike to the top of Mount Ojibway. At a fairly casual pace, we reached the lookout tower in about an hour. From the tower, you are able to see both the North and South shores of the island, as well as some of the inland lakes. On a clear day, Canada is also visible. It was a hot day (and the majority of the trail is unprotected from sun) but luckily many blueberry plants line the trail.

Very nice hike from Mount Franklin
Once you walk up to Mount Franklin, it is a fairly straight shot down to Mt Ojibway. The summit offers a great view to both sides of the island. There is also a lookout tower (unfortunately closed during our visit). Nice path down towards the Daisy Farm camping area.

    Nice trail and Fire Tower
We took the small ferry out to Daisy Farm and hiked back;; I believe it is 8 miles. The trail is lovely and we were able to climb the Ojibway Fire Tower for a grand view.. Nice easy hike with lovely views and forest.
