Such a beautiful campus!

MSU's huge country-like campus offers a lovely setting for running, biking or just hanging out, and also has places to visit, like the Beal Botanical Gardens, Sanford Natural Area, the 70,000-capacity Spartan football stadium, an art center, planetarium and, of course, the MSU Dairy Store for ice cream.

Michigan State University is Recommended by Ann Arbor Parents!
We live in Ann Arbor so one would think we would be U of M fans. To the contrary, we are not. Our eldest child attended MSU. She was accepted to both institutions. Contrary to popular folklore held by many Ann Arborites, MSU is NOT the inferior "second choice." She received an excellent education at MSU, her professors were very good and despite the size of the University, she had many opportunities and was not overwhelmed by the large campus. She also received many fine recommendations from her professors, many of whom spent individual time helping her. She did not experience the impersonal 200+ lecture hall environment that so many people warned us about. She also didn't have to spend her time dealing with elitist behaviors that exist in Ann Arbor. This is something we can no longer tolerate and don't fully understand although it must come from deep-seated insecurities. Thanks to her hard work and the support she received at MSU, our daughter also received a scholarship to graduate school. She elected not to attend U of M. Another "shocker" for Wal-Mart Wolverines who think the sun rises and sets on the diag. The MSU campus is beautiful, the classes she took were hard, she made many friends and she was very qualified and prepared for graduate studies. Thanks to MSU for giving our daughter the kind of education & experiences she will appreciate for the rest of her life. Go Green!

    Good school but...
MSU is a solid school, but needs teachers and administrators that truly care about the student well-being and learning to be a great school.
