Fantastic way to please the fire enthusiast in your family young & old.
Have to start off by saying my kids are absolutely thrilled by fire trucks, ambulances, police cars etc., pretty much anything public safety related. I found this place via a website search of "Firetruck museums" on Google. Knowing we were going to be going back to the other side of the state soon to put it on our schedule of places to visit. Kids were over the moon and so were mom & dad once we arrived. Was very pleased firstly by the admission of a family of 4 could visit & spend 2 + hours looking around for under $20.00. The facility itself, had tons of things to see. Not only lots of fire vehicles but actual tools of the trade,historical items including parts of the original fire station the building is part of. Even had a play area in the basement (one of three full floors!) Needless to say if you have a "fire enthusiast" in your family young or old or happen to be one yourself I'd recommend a visit. Very neat collection of items of various sorts.

Michigan Firehouse Museum
The new museum is attached to an old fire station that closed in the 1970s. The old fire station provides a glimpse of what these stations looked like in the past and the new museum has many examples of fire fighting equipment and early fire trucks. The building is clean with three floors of exhibits and the displays are well-organized. The tour guides are enthusiastic and well-informed. There is a nice gift shop. This is a great place to take school age children.

A Pleasant Surprise
I've driven past this museum hundreds of times always with the intention of someday stopping and going in. Well as a last minute driver for a group of senior citizens I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised by all the exhibits on display. Out tour guide was wonderful and it was a great experience stepping back in time. I enjoyed the museum so much I've decided to take my grandchildren.
