Beautiful hike
We parked near the Hodenpyl Dam and did 10 miles and were treated to a beautiful view of the river the entire day. Nicely-blazed trail, friendly hikers and some wonderful views. Next time we’ll hike the trail up and canoe down.

Amazing views
Amazing views! Wish we had more time to spend on the trail. We used Red Bridge River Access to get on the trail. The parking lot is small, but it was mid-week, so there were spots available. Check other access points if you are going on the weekend. Had to walk along the side of the road for 5-10 min to get from the parking lot to the trail. Google search of this trails returns references to 20 miles trail loop, made up of North Country Trail and Manistee River Trail. I would highly recommend the Manistee River Trail even if you are looking for is a 2-mile hike as opposed to 20-mile. Just drive to one of the access points, hike for however long you like and come back. I promise you will enjoy it!
