Challenging Golf in Oakland County

A group of four of us women played golf at this course on August 31, 2015. This was my first time playing at this course. While the course is attractive, it is far too challenging for me and I would not play here again. On the back nine, there are wetlands with tall grass on most of the holes and for me it is very challenging to hit over long distance of wetlands. The staff at the course is friendly and courteous. There is a club house and we ate lunch in the club house after golf and the food (sandwiches) were tasty.

    I'll Never Return
I play golf in a league. On June 2nd, twelve of us played at Lyon Oaks. It was cart path only because of recent rains. Play was slow. On the back nine a marshal approached us and asked us to pick up the pace. It was difficult because we were walking most of the course. Later, another marshal approached us and rudely told us we had two choices: skip the next hole or talk to the course supervisor. Since we were playing in a league, skipping a hole didn't sound like an option to us. The next thing we knew, the "course supervisor" appeared with his walkie talkie, stood in front of one of our carts, and was refusing to let us play on. He even offered to fight one of our foursome, who responded "would it make you feel good to beat a 67 year old man with a heart problem." His response was that he would tie both of his arms behind his back and fight. He was obviously into a personal power trip. A major point was that there was no one waiting behind us on the tee boxes. We were told the group behind us was complaining, but they were part of our group and said they never complained to anyone about the pace of play. We were so frustrated that the four of us skipped the last four holes. I have NEVER been treated in such away on a golf course in the 30 years I have been playing. We will not return.
