Great bike trails

We went there for the bike trail. It had a good write up. It really was nice. You feel like you are in the middle of nowhere when you are right around the corner from home. We biked all the way to Lake erie, a 50 mile round trip. Passed thru 3 or 4 other metroparks. Stopped for lunch in Flatrock. A totally fun time.

    outstanding paved bike trail
Starting at the entrance off Haggerty Rd. one can bike along huron river for @ 8 miles ending at a small nature sanctuary. The trail goes over bridges and past an old cemetery with headstones dating back to the 1800s. It winds thru 3 different parks with a spur running off to the city of New Boston where you may stop for a beer and burger or an ice cream, the scenery is very beautiful and there is fishing and canoeing. Good place for small mouth bass.

    Simple, Quiet & Peaceful
Lower Huron Metropolitan Park is a drive thru style park located just East of Belleville and West of Romulus Michigan. There are threre entrances. The North entrance is just South of I-94 and Haggerty road in Belleville. The South entrance is at Waltz road just West of New Boston. The West entrance is at the intersection of Haggerty, Savage and Bemis roads at the corner of Van Buren Township and Sumpter Township. Lower Huron Metro Park has linked bike/walking paths to Willow Metro Park and Oakwood Metro Park to the South in Huron Township. All three parks are bordered by the Huron River. Lower Huron Metro Park is home to Turttle Cove, a water park with water slides, fountains and a lazy river. During the summer months the weekends are always busy with a lot of activity. Weekdays are Quiet & Peaceful.
