Wonderful Wait Staff, Wines, and Appetizers
Left Foot Charley is a winery like no other. In lieu of the single estate model, LFC is a collection of grape and apple growers located throughout Northern Michigan dedicated to growing fruit for our wine and cider. Located in the urban setting of the former Traverse City State Hospital campus known as The Village, LFC creates an array of balanced white wine, red wine, and hard cider. Every bottle tells the story of the farm, the vintage and the winemaker's dream of sharing it all with you.

The Barrel Room is a hidden Gem.
The Barrel Room is a must! It's behind their main tasting area and a hidden gem. It's nestled into a store room that once had been storage for the hospital's fruits and vegetables. It's a beautiful place to sit inside or out on their little patio and enjoy some amazing wines. The staff is absolutely incredible! Their knowledge of the wines was phenomenal but even more, very personable people. We had to go back the next day to enjoy a glass of wine and just relax for a bit. I truly couldn't think of one area that could be improved. Their wine tasting was delicious. They customized it to out palate and couldn't have been happier. If you are wanting a relaxed place to enjoy incredible wine, this is your place. The ladies also gave us some amazing suggestions of coffee shops and places to eat. Can't praise this experience enough!

A great tasting experience!
We had to make reservations for our group for this winery. Our waiter was awesome, very accommodating and helped us choose our samples for our group of six. While we had a hard time finding a wine here that we were truly in love with we had a great experience. One real downside of this winery though was that you couldn’t buy a bottle of wine and have a glass and re-cork it and go. We had never had that situation before so that was a little weird. Great place and service and convenient to the shopping area at the Village of Grand Traverse Commons.
