Escape in the city

We drove 4 hrs from rural NW Michigan and during the last 1 hr I started to regret the decision to visit the East-side of my "hometown" of SE Michigan. When I started seeing the brown HCMA signs it gave me hope. Lake St. Clair Metropark was a wonderful escape from the city. I am no lover of city life, but I love seeing families enjoying one another and the enjoyment of the outdoors. This park was full of both in a beautiful setting. It was about 90 degrees and my kids loved the pool and splash pad. This was novel for "country kids" who love the outdoors and water, but mostly in lakes and rivers. We also visited the nature center and hiked the trails. Every staff member we interacted with was friendly and helpful. The maintenance of the grounds and facilities exceptional. Watch out for the Swan family on the nature trail. They were not so friendly. However, I could empathize some.

Something for everyone...in the great outdoors!!
A longtime favorite since I was a teenager...many happy memories with friends and family for several decades! On our most recent visit, on a sunny warm and breezy Sunday, we came to walk the boardwalk and enjoy seeing the boats head out to open lake as well as the sun shimmering on the water. Lots of families enjoying the splash pad and water slide features, riding bikes and walking the boardwalk, playing adventure golf, visiting the nature center, and picnicking! We enjoyed the first of the Sunday evening Summer Concert Series with friends; the music was so enjoyable and great to see so many people out to enjoy themselves! Worth the daily pass fee of $10 per car; $53 for the annual auto pass is worth it if you plan multiple visits to the park. Note that there are still COVID restrictions and rules in place at this time so be sure to check the website or call for more info.

2 week vacation to get away from my family
Beautiful Lake fish for 4 days caught no fish. Beautiful boating if you like to boat in the Atlantic ocean Very rough extremely high. Wait 5 years before you visit this place. But if you In McComb county I wouldn't drive all the way to Lake Huron.
