Sunset delight
I have been for years looking to find a place to have a beach fire. Empire beach is the place. They have fire pits all along the beach. Took the family to enjoy a sunset and fire. I would highly recommend taking the time out for a little time to watch the sunset here. remember Lake Michigan is always cold to swim in , still did not stop lots of people. The nice part is there was a small beach on other side of parking lot. Kids loved that. The parking lot charges $5.00 to park from 10-8 after 8 its free . if going go early lots of people took in the sunset.

WOW!!!
All I can say is WOW! Go early to get a good spot. Parking is a dollar per hour, which is great compared to other beaches we've gone to in the south. Absolutely gorgeous! The water was a very cool 72 degrees. Not sure if it ever gets warmer, since we were there the last day of July. Very relaxing listening to the waves crashing. The playground was great for our 5 year old. There are also restrooms. Great beach that I HIGHLY recommend!

Lake Michigan Beach Park @ Empire (MI)
This little park is a picturesque and ideal spot. We were staying in Traverse City and decided to watch the sun set over the lake and ventured over to Empire to check it out. Many others had this same idea and parking was very very limited, so make sure to come early enough to drive in circles for quite a while before the sun sets! Fire pits, basketball courts and various amenities make this one of many fine beach stops along Lake Michigan.
