Beautiful Area with Poorly Marked Trails

Great Campground, the sites are pretty big and spread apart with good shower/restroom facilities. The equestrian trails are poorly marked and it’s very easy to get lost down a path as there are little trail markers to tell you where you are going. Beautiful fall colors and not crowded on trails. Overall would go definitely go back, but the state needs to upgrade their maps and put in more signs.

    Hiking, fishing, swimming & kayaking
I have never camped here but visit a lot. We kayak or take the non-motorized boat and fish. I also like to hike around the lake, the trails are very nice. My granddaughter enjoys the beach. They also have disc golf. It's beautiful in the fall.

    Ionia Michigan State Park
Great park for multiple outdoor activities! We especially like the vast trails for walking/hiking - the fall colors were spectacular this year. Also, this park offers a nice, clean, sandy beach and small lake to enjoy for water sports during the warmer season. In addition, we noticed there are two small cabins available to rent for those who may prefer a less "rustic" camping experience. Park staff were busy working on the vast grounds trying to keep it well maintained - which is always much appreciated! Keep up the good job - it makes all the difference. Thanks!
