Huron Sunrise Trail, Michigan, United States

Great bike path

This is a wonderful paved bike path that extends from downtown Rogers City to the 40 mile Point light house North of town (about 10 miles). Some of the path goes right along the Lake Huron shore and part through the woods. The Hoeft State park is about at the halfway point and park visitors use this a lot. Since most of the path is fairly flat it is a great ride for kids.

    7 Miles of Awesomeness
The Sunrise Trail runs from the Southeast side of Rogers City, past the City Lakeside Park, over the Trout River... at which point you can then follow Forest Ave to cross US-23 and take the spur into the Vogler Conservation Area.. very cool area with pond/dam/nature trails. The main trail does continue along the shores of Lake Huron into and past Hoeft State Park, finally ending at the very cool 40 Mile Point Lighthouse.. don’t forget to wade out to the wreck of the Joseph Fay sailing vessel while at the Point.

    Beautiful Views of Lake Huron
This paved bike and pedestrian trail travels for miles along Lake Huron. The views are awesome. The only reason this did not get an Excellent rating is that the when the trail starts to come into Rogers City it puts you on some vehicle traveled roads and city sidewalks. It can get a bit confusing as to which way to go at that poing.
