So fun!

Have an Adventure. Witness the power of the creek harnessed to cut timber into lumber at one of the oldest industrial sites on the Upper Great Lakes. On the Adventure Tour, explore the treetops on the Forest Canopy Bridge, soar like an eagle on the 425′ Eagle’s Flight Zip Line, and experience the layers of the forest on the five-story Treetop Discovery Tower. Afterward, take time to explore the natural beauty of Mill Creek State Park, which has more than three miles of groomed hiking trails. This is Mackinac.

    Overlooked attraction in Mackinac City
This is kind of an overlooked attraction in Mackinac City. Located a few miles out of town on US 31 towards Cheboygan. Highlight is a reconstructed sawmill over picturesque Mill Creek. Don’t miss the sawpit and sawmill demonstration, which usually runs every couple of hours. Really informative demonstration of a late 1700’s sawmill and how the first settlers of the area used to cut wood before the sawmill existed. What is so great about the demonstration is they run the sawmill while you are inside and then you go and watch near the creek to see how it works from the outside. If you have kids over four feet tall, they will enjoy the zip line, climbing wall, and canopy walk but this costs extra, even if you have the annual pass or combination ticket to visit the other Mackinac State Parks sites. For younger kids there is a little play area that has a slide, fiberglass animals they can climb, and a little zip line. This area is included in the regular admission. There are also several trails you can walk, which we didn’t do because it was kind of buggy the day we went. Overall, we thought visiting here was better than the lighthouse and only exceeded by the forts.

    So fun!
I did the adventure tour with rope bridge and zip line. I love seeing the trees from up so high. Kyle gave plenty of interesting info on natural features and wildlife. Kevin helped set us all up safely and quickly with our gear. The nature trails were really pretty, moss and ferns and trees everywhere. The lookout tower is worth the climb- you can see the bridge and islands. The other guy who was giving info on the animal pelts etc was a natural storyteller and answered questions really well. I didn’t spend much time at the Mill area, but I bet it was probably great too. If I had known I could zip again for $3 I probably would have. Good day!!
