Fisherman's Island State Park, Michigan, United States

4.5 (125 reviews) Spent Ranking #2 in Charlevoix County State Parks

Beautiful views, nice picnic spot

Perfect spot for our family to have a picnic and search for Petoskey stones. There were many in a 20 -yard stretch. Peaceful spot with few people and a gorgeous view of the lake. Beware of leaving any food out as there was an overly confident squirrel who had no trouble coming within 2 ft of us to attempt snagging our food.

Beautiful quiet beach with Aurora Bonus
Visited Charlevoix over Labor Day 2022 and went to this beach twice. On Sep4, the Northern Lights were predicted and we trekked back at 11:30pm and Yes, saw the Aurora..great spot to view them.

    Nice hike
Wanted to do a little bit of hiking. Hwy 31 was closed but people were going through the signs so I did too. Glad I did as I made it just fine to Fisherman’s Island State Park. The ranger was really nice and gave me a map. Got a parking spot right across from the trailhead. The trail was over 3 miles long one way and I wasn’t planning on doing the whole thing. This was a great trail with only one other person on it. There were signs naming several of the trees along the way. Not sure how far I went but once I got to a smelly black mud puddle I turned around and went back. Didn't go to the beach as I had just seen the beach around Mt. McSauba.
