My dad, John Stover, used to take my sister and me on mountain bikes down this old rail to the Wooden Spoon in Concord for breakfast. We’d ride through Bunches of burrs and prickers and of course lots of mud! It was fun at the time, but I am also very content with the new much easier & smoother paved version at this point in my life. This is a great place to ride or walk/ run for all ages and ability levels. It is so nice not to have to worry about getting hit by a car!!! These trails are awesome and I love that Jackson continues to expand the trail system. I think it’s been a fantastic improvement to our community and has opened new and safe opportunities to get outside and enjoy nature. It is the best to see older and younger people out and about enjoying the trails. I included a painting I did about 10 years ago of my daughter and husband riding on this very trail, just west of Weatherwax Rd.

    Nice smooth paved trail
Falling waters trail is a beautiful trail. It is smooth and well maintained. I ride my bike on the trail, however it is used for everything trail related for anything without a motor. Pets are allowed on a leash. I’m excited when they start connecting the trails from east to west. I have found some information online. What I have found so far is that it is not completed. Some of the connections are tentative. The falling waters trail crosses many roads along the way. Stop signs are posted at each crossing. Some informative signs about the history of the railroad are posted along the way. Concord to Jackson is approximately 11 miles. Parking for this trail is located in Concord, Spring Arbor at Lime lake, and Jackson on Weatherwax Rd.

    Falling Waters Bike Trail
This is a 12 mile bike / walking trail in Jackson, Michigan. it is a lovely trail, that passes through woods, farms, wetlands and lakes. There is no housing developments or passing through the city. . Most of the trail is pristine and beautiful. The trail is often very quiet and not crowded. It is all paved. I have ridden many bike trails and I love this one. Be sure and park only at the designated trail head parking lots. Park at the crossroads you will get towed.
