Awesome Venue!
Awesome concert venue for sure! Tailgating in the parking lot before the Chris Stapleton show was a blast. Paid $25 for VIP parking which shot us out on a private road and we were back to the Quality Inn in Waterford within minutes. The event staff and law enforcement were all friendly and seemed thankful to be back in the concert business. We were through security in 4 minutes. Typical $35 T-shirt merch was available everywhere. Tons of food and drink choices. We paid to sit under the roof, but there is lawn seating too. My only suggestion is to improve the WiFi or phone service as the Ticketmaster app had some issues. We will be back.

Outdoor Concert Venue
Now called Pine Knob Amphitheater, this is a decent outdoor venue. Parking lot is quite a walk to the entrance (although you can pay extra to park closer). Lots of people partying/tailgating in the parking lot. We had lawn seats and took our own chairs, but only one of the 10+ security lines would let people with chairs go through. Once inside, we weren't really sure where to go since there wasn't really any signs pointing us in the direction of the stage. Lots of food/beverage stands, but very expensive. Thankfully there are steps leading up the hill, but unfortunately there are none going down the hill. They do offer rentals of chairs ($5 when we visited), which I wish we had known about beforehand instead of dragging our own around. People on the lawn were mostly friendly, but a few people were crowding into us when there was plenty of room elsewhere. It rained almost the entire night of the concert, and some people had umbrellas that obstructed our view and at the end of the night, getting back to the top of the hill to leave was a struggle for most people because it was very slippery and steps would have really come in handy.

Good Outdoor Venue
DTE ENERGY is a good venue for smaller outdoor concerts..my bf and I saw Train, Dave Matthews and quite a few other artists there and we had a blast. However, the parking, and getting out of the lot, can be a pain.
