Detroit Diamond Jack boat tour

I picked up some Groupons for the Diamond Jack tours for something different with family that was in from out of town. I just want to say it was a wonderful time. I plan on going again later this summer, paying the full price, because it was well worth the money and time. The staff was very pleasant. The info given during the tour was interesting. The weather was perfect for such a cruise. I recommend this tour to all ages.

Got on the wrong cruise! It was good
Honestly, I thought that the two timings listed on the website were for the same cruise. The 1pm leaving from Wyandotte is the Detroit city North cruise. The other one at 3:30 is the downriver cruise. We arrived at 3:00 to catch the second cruise believing that we were going to see Detroit from the water. Instead the boat turned away from the city and went down river. The Downriver cruise however turned out to be beautiful. They were areas that I had never seen. Staff are very friendly. One pointed out a spot where a Bald Eagle has been flying back and forth. Sure enough the Eagle was in the trees as we passed by, it was amazing. The cruise gets really close to Canada as it turns around. Cell phones switch over to Canadian Bell (i have Verizon in the States). Be wise about your data roaming charges. It was not the cruise I was hoping for, but it was beautiful, relaxing and very good. The price for the cruises are very reasonable and the two hours are really a full two hours.

Great Way to Learn About Detroit History
We found to the tour on Groupon and took the tour on the Detroit River. I really enjoyed seeing all that lines the river on both the Detroit and Canada side and learning some of the history along the way. We we able to see the old Boblo building, Kid Rock's house, the remaining mansions (including the Manogian) that are on the river, and went all the way to Lake St. Clair. Even at regular price, this tour is worth it. There are snacks and beverages on board, including beer and wine! Definitely a nice experience and the crew are great!
