Wonderful Adventure for Kids
Visited Detroit Kid City with our 2-1/2 year old and 9-month old grandchildren. It is a wonderful educational indoor play cafe. It is set up like a town where children can do just about anything they want with all the kid-size town adventures. Play garb was available - firefighter hats/coats, chef hats/coats, postal employee hat/shirt/bag, grocery store items, music shop, bank, etc. The older child loved delivering mail at each of the mailboxes throughout the town. She also really loved making food at the kid-sized kitchen. They offer coffee and other drinks for the adults while the children play. This would be a great place for a birthday party or field day. Hours are 9-3.

All Inclusive Birthday Party Perfection!
We had our 3-year-old's birthday here with about 10 of his friends plus parents. Our son loves Detroit Kid City and can spend a long time playing in all of the different kid-sized rooms at the Southfield location. We eventually investigated having a party here as opposed to another home party. I was sold when I was told that I basically wasn't allowed to lift a finger for the event. They handle the food, decorations, set up, clean up and even the goodie bags! It was simple. Jet's Pizza, Cupcakes, Smoothies for the kiddos plus we had an open coffee bar for the adults. The team who handled our party did a fantastic job and the kids (and parents) had a blast. I can't recommend DKC enough for birthday parties.

Kidsize Detroit
This is a delightful stop for the family with preschoolers. A kidsize Hitsville, Tiger Stadium, along with the Post Office, Fire Station, Pizza shop, Barber shop and more. All hands on, with dress up opportunities and coloring station. Lets deliver the mail or try the car and fire truck! Coffee shop for the adults is nice also. Would have given it a 5 but thought it a bit pricey at $10/child, I had 4 grandchildren. I also went to the Gratiot location which is a bit closer to where I am. It was clean, lots of assistants as needed.
