Siskin and Ebert’s grandparents give Two Thumbs Up!
I personally enjoy silent movies and am willing to drive quite a distance for the right experience but not my friends so much. We were vacationing at silver lake and discovered that this venue existed! I definitely wanted to go, but it’s hard to convince friends who have small kids and teenagers that they ought to go watch a Century old film and not be out tubing. But since it’s my boat... and it was raining I was able to convince them all to make the short jaunt into Hart. It’s an art gallery by day, and a movie house at night, so there’s stuff to see (and buy) while waiting for all the group to arrive. In all, our group was about 15 people so e didn’t all arrive at the same time. ABOUT THE MOVIE: Most silent movie experiences I have are the same classics over and over. Phantom of the opera or Nosferatu (early Dracula) around Halloween or Charlie Chaplin, Laurel & Hardy our Buster Keaton the rest of the year. But not here!! He has dug up some dramatic presentation that is never seem before and has worked up a score to make it a truly enjoyable presentation for regulars and first timers! Make it a point while up there to see the current release of ‘19! Well, 1919 anyways! Silent are always a blast, and - as an aside - a great place to bring an exchange student. We had an exchange student whose verbal English was lacking but could read it well. She thoroughly enjoyed silent movies because she could read the title cards and the rest has no language barrier! Not your typical night at the movies!

If you like music and and great evening go here on a Saturday evening
My wife and I enjoyed a silent movie with great organ background - Buster Keaton. Prior to the 7 pm show we had a 45 minute piano/organ show. Wow can they play. They have a great arrangement with Kristi's Pour House (1/2 block away) where you get the show and a great dinner for $20.
