    Brooks Memorial Fountain
One of Marshall’s highlights is the Brooks fountain! In the center of our only round about, we just refer to it as the circle, it is one of our main attractions. You can just sit and take in all of the surroundings or just watch the beauty it provides. The different water patterns and the lights bring joy to many visitors. The area is large enough for children to play but not in the fountain. There is a drinking fountain that has a lower water outlet so you can fill your pet’s water dish! As you sit in the park you can see many of the historic buildings in our great little town! Right across the street is the visitor center.

A "quiet" escape in the middle of town
The Brooks Memorial Fountain is the centerpiece of this quaint Michigan city. Located on what might be called a roundabout in some other places, the fountain was built in 1930 as a gift to the community to honor CE Brooks, the father of the Harold Brooks who donated the fountain. It has a Greek Doric design. According to literature about the fountain, there are 96 different combinations of lights and water sprays. The water is on from mid-May to mid-September, with the changing lights all year. A nativity scene graces the fountain at Christmas. The fountain is often used for wedding pictures, as well as family reunions and the like. The area is often used for community festivals and other events. On warm summer days, couples sit enjoying the glistening water while kids of all ages play games in the green lawn that surrounds it.
