4th time a charm, EXCELLENT SERVICE!! Love this course!
Was on way to UP for week golf and sightseeing vacation and anticipated playing Timberstone ( 5 star) and Greywalls. To cut drive time we stayed at the UAW lodge just up the street Monday night 8/9/21 and got summoned off course by siren due to imminent thunderstorms. Got a 9 hole rain check and played back nine Sunday 8/15/21 on way home and stayed there again. I love this course but what stood out this time was the phenomenal service received. We had a 4:10 tee time and called on route and they moved us up to 2:20 tee and same twilight rate and the starter sent us off the 3rd hole to pass a couple foursomes. Wife thought that was super. Called off course on the 12th and that was it. Set a Sunday tee and emailed me saying playing off back ok with a 9:30 tee. They called Saturday and requested to start earlier so as not to hold up those making the turn. Great service!! Worked out great as we were first playing back nine with fresh dew and a spectacular cool summer morning of sunshine.(8/15/21) I just want to thank all the employees at Black Lake for their great service and just love the conditions ( except for 15th) and we will see you again if in area. Exceptional value at $40 twilight compared to $109 Timberstone and $155 although all are unique in their own way. One of the best courses in the state. Arcadia and Greywalls are my number one and two but Black lake easily in top ten in my book.

    Great course.
Great golf course but maintenance is lacking. The tee boxes were not mowed on Friday and the grass was very long that caused issues with grass getting between your club and the ball. The flags were not moved and in the same exact spot on Friday and Saturday. The fairways were long and like the first cut of rough on most courses. It is a very difficult and scenic course. Play is slow and rangers do not keep pace of play.
