Great Family Farm to Pick Fruit and Pumpkins
My family and I go to Big Dan's farm every year to get our apple fix and pumpkins for Halloween. Yes, this farm you actually walk out or take a tractor ride and pick your own apples (Matsu apples were bigger than my fist and plenty of them on all the trees), and go into a patch and pick your own pumpkin. We were there last weekend and it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. My boys loved running thru the orchard in the remote area of Michigan. The golden delicious apples were extremely sweet. We got 6 boxes of apples and it hadn't looked like we took any from any of the trees. The pumpkins were huge larger than basketballs. Luckily they had pull carts to get the boxes in, but they also had two tractors that can pick you up, even though it isn't a far walk. In the barn they also sell bushels of Honey Crisp apples, jams, cider, other produce. It's pretty close to the Highway so it doesn't take long to get there. We will be back again next year.

Big Dan’s is not the biggest farm attraction around southwest Michigan. But they have pretty much everything your looking for without the dog and pony show. They are super friendly and treat you like a neighbor.
