Wonderful Golfing

This golf course is outstanding. Clean cut grass and beautiful landscape to see along the way. My family has been golfing here for years, and will continue to do so. Great location as well. Best course in the area.

Once the Blackberry Patch Golf Club - Now Bella Vista
Bella Vista is an 18-hole championship golf course with bent-grass throughout. An honor is that it is sanctioned as the 10th course in Michigan to receive full honors as a certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary. From this readers should gather that the course, meandering through about 300-acres, affords seclusion, while affording visitors a serene, isolated golf experience with great views of nature and wildlife. Facilities include a driving range, practice green and short game area. The course was overall in very good shape. I couple greens were in need of some TLC, as the scorching hot, dry weeks of summer had done a number on them. However, greens were well manicured and putted well. The tee boxes and fairways were in very good condition. The course has a mixture of wide open and very tight fairways, requiring smart course management and focus to avoid those irritating big numbers. I had been to Bella Vista a couple times, however, most in our eight had not. They, however, all liked the course, agreeing that we should make the trip to play again in the future.

    Greatly improved
This course has been on a 12 year roller coaster ride since inception. The new owners have brought the conditions back to it's best yet largely thanks to the hiring of green's superintendent Dan Drennan. The old pro shop has been transformed into an inviting restaurant and bar serving quite acceptable fare. The golf course has been "softened" considerably in terms of difficulty but remains a formidable test. With it's popular pricing this represents a true value in golf.
