Good food and awesome service
We are an old bar/restaurant under new ownership! Serving burgers, steaks, ribs and sandwiches in or remodeled dining room with large windows to view the lake. We also have a full bar with draft and bottled beer, along with many liquors. Join your friends on our "pontoon deck" and enjoy beautiful views of Houghton Lake.

New Owner has it down
Having been to the Back Door bar a number of times, this past visit was eye opening. This bar was a bottom of the bucket dive bar. Now it rivals most of the restaurants in Houghton Lake. Food was alright, but the inside was new, clean and very nice. Service was pretty good, updated bar selection is a great improvement.

Very clean!
I have been visiting houghton lake for 20 years now and this weekend was my first time coming here-- what a pleasant surprise! It was great. It's definitely a bar atmosphere but it was exceptionality clean. Everything was spotless- from the neon signs on the wall, to the restrooms. I was really not expecting much but it's a great place for dinner! We had the nachos for an appetizer, it had a little too much meat for me but was good! Our dinners were average but we will be back!
