    #1 destination in Ludington
Back to the Amber Elk Ranch for my second year of seeing this amazing facility. Was worried about Saturday of Labor Day weekend but they handled it perfectly. The young lady selling our tickets was as polite as can be. Elk Burgers were amazing and a must have when available (I think only Saturdays in the summer.) The owner cooks them himself and had the coolest little lady helping get everything ordered. Our tour guide again this year was Rick. He makes the whole trip so fun for everyone with so much energy and enthusiasm. Had us all laughing from the start. My daughter loved his very corny jokes. Emily was our “runner” this year. She was so energetic and always with a smile on her face as we drove through the gates. They answered every question without hesitation. Safety was paramount the entire trip. Got close to what I thought were huge male elk. The female elk at the beginning and end didn’t disappoint as they fed from us gently and what seemed like endlessly. Can’t wait for next year but I will try to go earlier in the year so we can feed the male elk and feel the velvet. Great job to everyone at the ranch. #1 destination in Ludington for sure. Make a whole trip to Ludington just to visit this place.

    Amazing Elk
We visited the Elk Farm with family and our grandchildren. The animals were amazing to see. They have covered wagons for ride in. We sat in the second wagon (two hitched together) so it was a little more difficult to listen to the driver/tour guide. When we could hear her she was very informative and did a good job telling us about the animals. It was mostly difficult to hear her because of people talking around us. The animals we amazing to see up close as they come right up to the wagons to eat grain out of our hands. They were gentle. The kids (and us) were amazing to touch the males antlers - so soft! They had a sink with running water and soap for us to wash with when we were done. The down size was the "petting zoo" which were guinea fowl and a couple of small donkeys. Would have been nice for some other animals to pet or see while we waiting for our tour.
