Nice museum off the beaten path. Was only open saturdays. Amtrak also in the building. Has outdoor displays you can walk up to.

Railroad History Alive
Great place to relieve the early 1900's in railroad history. Live layout depicting Mendota, Il in the 1930's and 49's.

Nice little museum.
Nice little museum. I love that small towns create places like this and make it a point to stop in if I'm traveling though small towns this. I was at the Illinois Railroad Museum a few days before and this doesn't hold a candle to that place, but, it's a nice stop with nice displays. It is also on a pretty busy rail line and I watched a few trains pass by. The inside looked like there was a lot packed into a little space, but it was covid closed. That didn't stop me from enjoying the steam engine and rail cars displayed outside.
