Mekong Ecolodge - Day Tours, Mekong Delta, Vietnam

Off the beaten track

Thank you Ms Hue for a great day. We had a wonderful and unique experience at Meking Ecolodge for the day. We arrived by boat in the morning and met at the landing. It was a short walk to the lodge where we were welcomed with a cool drink and then began our tour to visit the local people in the village. The visit included making pandan cakes, experienced Vietnamese folk singing, shown how to make baskets and making rice paper. Then came back for a superb Vietnamese lunch. If you would like a unique tour and visit the village people, this is the place to come to. We didn't stay overnight but were shown the unique Eco huts. Each had an ensuite where the bathroom was in open air but totally private. There were a choice of rooms with or without air conditioning. Highly recommend it if you want to get away from the tourist crowds. Patricia and Garry

Felt like royalty and was off the beaten track
Stop looking around for where you are going to book your tour and book here. The lodge was absolutely beautiful and my husband and I felt like royalty when we were there since the lodge was relatively empty but still had more people waiting on us than guests! Our guide, Khua (spelling?) spoke excellent English and took us to places where my husband and I were the only tourists in sight. It was great to get such a good, local, impression of the Mekong area. Some parts of the tour were even a little bit culturally shocking, which I didn't even know was possible for me since I have traveled so much, but that was all part of the experience. Word of caution for animal lovers and vegetarians, maybe you should stay on the boat when they take you to the food market, the meat is VERY fresh if you get what I mean. I loved this part of my trip and wish I would have stay another night at the lodge.
