gorgeous

we never found any signage, specifying where we went, as lower mountain fork river, but i believe that's where we were. oklahoma has a bad reputation, for not having enough signs. there's a parking area and picnic tables, but walking on the river banks is the draw here. on the parking lot side of the road, it's flat. we were their during trout season. there were many fly fisherman there. across the road, from the parking lot, are where the falls and rapids are. the trail is pretty good. along the riverbank. but, everyone that parks, as of july 2020. needs a parking pass. you can get them on your phone. if you are not in their system, you will get a ticket.

Mountain Stream that looks more like Colorado
Below Broken Bow dam the Mountain Fork river flows through park and wild land. There are swimming places, and lots of places to fish for trout. The scenery is just stunning and worth a drive down 259A taking the side roads to visit the sights, museum etc...

Awesome, very beautiful scenic kayaking on the horseshoe bend
My all time favorite kayaking location is at the horseshoe bend of Lower Mountain Fork River. The views are breathtaking, quiet, calm and relaxing. I could literally take a nap on the kayak it is such a peaceful float. The kayak rentals are cheap! $12 last time I rented one.
