Pottery Painting! Secondhand Books and DVDs!
I love Art Signals! My daughter and I have been here three or four times. We grab a snack and coffee across the street at Serendipity, pick out a pottery piece and paints and settle in for several hours to paint. The staff is friendly, helpful, and encouraging and are very welcoming. There is a wide variety of useful, pretty pottery pieces to paint and lots of completed pieces around the store to serve as inspiration. They are a little pricey, but the paint, glazing, and firing are all included in the total price of each piece. After you're done painting, you pay, leave your contact information. Art Signals emails you when your pieces have been fired and are ready to pick up.

    Fun and Relaxing
I have attended two of the adult paint your own pottery classes at Art Signals. First of all the time just flies by when you are painting. Even if you aren't an artist you will be proud of the things you create. They have structured classes for adults (and for children) throughout each month. It's a great way to get together with friends in a no pressure environment. I liked the instruction they provide at the start of the class and if you need help or have really screwed up your vision they can help correct it. Finished pieces are ready one to two weeks later. You can also go in any time they are open and paint pottery on your own. If I ever improve there will be a couple of items I'd do and give as gifts.
