Kamaole Beach Park II, Hawaii, United States

4.5 (1.050 reviews) Spent Ranking #3 in Maui Beaches

Beautiful Maui Beach

We loved Kamaole Beach II, it was such a lovely beach to swim and boogie board at and each fish and chips at sunset at the nearby tables and seats (be sure to try Coconuts Fish Cafe or Maui Fish and Chips at Dolphin Plaza one night during your Maui stay). I also appreciated the fact that there was a lifeguard on duty and, outdoor showers, toilets and parking nearby too. I love this part of Maui and highly recommend going to Kamaole Beach II (or any of the three Kamaole beaches)!!

    Clean, family beach
We stayed in a condo right across the street. This beach is terrific! The morning waves are very gentle until around 10:30. Great for families with little kids. The winds start to pickup and change direction around 10:30. It doesn't make the waves dangerous, in my opinion, but they are definitely bigger. It gets rather windy for the rest of the day, which makes it difficult to have an umbrella while you're chilling on the beach. The beach is clean. There are lifeguards on duty until around 4-5:00. Lots of places to park your beach chair, find some shade, sit in the grassy park area, and have a great time. The sunsets are incredible.

    Best Sand
We visited many beaches on Maui and Oahu this month, and Kamaole II was our favorite. Our condo was located on the north end of this beach, so not near the lifeguard stand and public access. But it's the same sand and a short distance from the public access to the beach. The sand is fine and beautiful, and there are very few rocks on the beach. We saw sea turtles and fish when we snorkeled, and our son had fun with the boogie board when the waves were higher. Many people did paddle boarding, especially in the morning when water was calmer. Such a lovely spot.
