Coffee the life story

This small museum is well worth the visit. Good insight into the past challengers this area has experienced all driven around the coffee business.

Quirky and informative - and free
Rather faded but a comprehensive and informative display about coffee, from who came here with the first seeds, to how it gets to your cup.
Worth a visit and leave a donation!
    Clean toilet

    Informative place
We enjoyed our visit here. Lots of interesting information about not only coffee production but the impact on the country as well as the history of the town too. Recommended if you've come all this way

Interesting museum and the hidden tourist office worth a visit
Interesting little museum. Not many exhibits but plenty info in Spanish/English about the spread of coffee and it's history and impact in Nica. Also lots of info about famous locals and Matagalpa in general. It's free so worth a look, shame there's not a coffee shop... they're missing a trick there! Best of all tucked at the back was a little tourist information office with quite possibly the most enthusiastic lady ever there ready and willing to give info about what to do in and around Matagalpa. She was great and marked all sorts of treks, routes, bus stops and restaurants on an enormous map for us. Really helpful if you want to avoid paying for tours!

    Lots of info for free!
Loads of info at this free coffee museum. Plus an excellent cup of coffee to be had for only 15 cordobas.

    Worth a stop
The coffee museum was also worth a visit. It provided information so detailed you could start your won coffee farm, but also gave a nice overview of the history of coffee in Nicaragua.Info in Spanish and English.

    good information
They have the history of the coffee production in Matagalpa region. If you are with a group, it is small.

    Free Attraction
We went to this coffee museum to learn a bit more about the history of coffee before we went on our trip to the coffee growing area.
It is free and you sign a book on entry. It is written in Spanish and English. Very informative but at 12.30 we were asked to leave as they had to have their dinner and were shutting. I was amazed as we would have been finished in five minutes!!!
We did return later as we were in the area. But then she asked me to sign in I told her we were there earlier. Then I had to ask her to put the lights on as it was so dark we couldn't see anything.
No English spoken my Spanish is pocco!! ( little ) .
    Typical Nico way !!!

    A Disappointment
The museum was free, so no loss there. The museum is comprised of informational displays on the wall, so there is a lot if reading and some if it was interesting. If you happen to be walking by drop in and see what you think, but don't go out of your way.
