Wilson Mountain Reservation, Massachusetts, United States
4.5 (3 reviews) Spent 2-3 hours Ranking #5 in Dedham State Parks
lovely spring hike--or anytime hike
Wilson Mountain Reservation is owned by the state of Massachusetts for public recreation and as a protected woodland in Dedham, Massachusetts. It has several miles of trails through woodlands, meadows, and wetlands. In early May, we saw Lady Slippers and other wildflowers in bloom. Earlier vernal pools would have been active but not so lively by this time. Like most of nature, the trails vary with the season. Very gentle walk in the "wilderness" amidst bustling urban life.

Wilson Mountain Trail
Nice set of hiking trails with a couple of offshoots from the main trail. While the parking lot is small, there is plenty of parking available along the road so it's never an issue. There is also a pond behind the running track with an open field that many dog owners will visit for some water time fun. The trails are in good condition, and very easy to follow, not too technical. Definitely worth a visit for a ~90min walk in the woods

Excellent place to go with your dog
Wilson Mountain is great to go with your dog. Lots of trails and several streams to explore. Definitely wear shoes with very good treads as trails are full of large rocks that you need to climb over. Reservation rules state that dogs must remain "on leash," but many people don't comply. Just be aware that dog officers from the Town of Dedham patrol the Reservation and do issue fines to owners of off-leash dogs.
