Whitehall State Park, Massachusetts, United States

4.5 (12 reviews) Spent 2-3 hours Ranking #4 in Hopkinton State Parks

Fantastic run

I have run here quite frequently in both summer and winter. The route is roughly 5-6 miles if you don't take any side paths. It is relatively easy to follow the blazes, but not too terrible if you lose them. All you need to do is look for the lake. The terrain is about perfect for trail running. There are hills, but they are not terrible. The scenery is varied and pretty. Yes, at times you're effectively in somebody's back yard, but for the majority of the run, you' don't see houses, which is nice. For running, I suggest you park at the boat launch off of 135.

    Beautiful Natural Lake
Love this lake for kayaking, fishing, and hiking. No water skiing or fast speedboats allowed here. Only one boat ramp and the few docks on the lake were grandfathered in. Nesting pair of eagles, beavers, swans, ducks, herons, and lots of fish. Hiking trail all around the lake.
