Whispering Oaks Winery, Massachusetts, United States

4.5 (3 reviews) Spent 1-2 hours Ranking #2 in Melrose Wineries & Vineyards

Very nice winery and owners. Enjoyed their wine and talking with the owners

This was our last winery of the day and pulled up to a very nice winery, not a big wine corporation, just a local winery that was elegant and nice. The owners are wonderful to chat with and learn about their wines. The La Crescent wine was great, we loved it. Not like other La Crescent wines we have tasted.

My brother, sister and our spouses visited Whispering Oaks this past week and had an excellent time tasting their wonderful wine and listening to the story of the history of the winery. Very impressive that they do not use sugar in making their wines and are selective on any type of spray that is used. Their story to create this winery is inspiring. The wines were excellent, with their LeCrescent the best we have ever tasted! Absolutely worth visiting!

Whispering Oaks Winery - Country fun
Whispering Oaks is a relatively new winery operated by husband and wife on weekends only. We had a very pleasant afternoon tasting all currently produced wines. The host and hostess (the owners) were very cordial, informative and overall very accommodating. There were several other customers being served, but we never felt neglected and never waited long for our next pour. They were both good conversationalists in particular regarding the winery, but eager to chat about most any subject of interest to us. Tasting was free for the first four wines, $4 for all wines. They produce mostly white wines, all of which were very good. They only had one blush wine and one red. They were both very good as well. There wasn't much available for food to accompany wine other than a block of cheese for sale. The tasting room was clean as well as the rest room. The winery and vineyard setting was very scenic. I would give it a 5 rating if there were more reds and a little more accompanying food for tasting.
