Beautifully ornate theatre with "perfect acoustics"

The press about Springfield's Symphony Hall is accurate -- the acoustics are, indeed "perfect." So perfect that one can hear a bum note "perfect;" however, the Springfield Symphony Orchestra, who I saw perform there were well-beyond the competent city orchestra that I've experienced in similarly sized New England cities (e.g. New Haven, Providence.) The Springfield Orchestra, in my opinion, is close to being a world-class orchestra. When I saw the "SSO" this past year, its conductor was Kevin Rhodes - he puts a lot of feeling into his conducting. I really enjoyed the night's Russian programme. Symphony Hall itself is beautiful -- in my opinion, even more so than Springfield's Paramount Theatre (which is also ornate and beautiful.) My only problem with SYmphony Hall is the comfortability of the seats -- they're a bit Fenway Park-like, if that makes any sense. They were obviously built for smaller people of a different time.

    Fun concert here
Attended the Backroad Blues Festival here. The Hall is beautiful. Staff was so friendly - all (drinks, snacks, security, merchandise sales). A short walk from our hotel (Holiday Inn Express). Only negative is that the bathroom is in the basement.

    Great Sound Quality
We went to the Mercy Me concert on March 4, 2022. Of course, the concert itself was amazing. We love Mercy Me and Micah Tyler before we even arrived, and they were both over the top great as expected. The venue was a bit of a mystery. If there had not been a crowd forming at the door, or a photo of the building online, we would not have known whether we were in the right place. We also had a difficult time finding parking until we traveled down a side street. I think this place could use a couple signs for out of towners like me. My husband is 5'7" and his knees were touching the seat in front of him in a way that made him very uncomfortable. He had to get up several times and stand in the aisle during the show. Also, we were in the balcony, and there was a disco ball and some other item obscuring the view of the big screen they used to amplify the view. The big screen was amazing, but it would've been nice to be able to see the whole thing. There was also a horizontal row of stage lighting obscuring about a foot worth of the view of the very top of the screen for the people in the balcony. That was a bit annoying. All the employees were friendly, polite, and helpful.
