Beautiful spot on the harbor

We used to go to "record hops" here on Fridays during the summer when we were teenagers during the 1950's and there was adult square dancing on Saturdays. The original "bandstand" was torn down and replaced by the cupola one sees on the TripAdvisor site. Nice venue for wedding photos.

    Square dances and concerts on the park
    Spending a little time in Mattapoisett? Don't miss an opportunity to experience a little local color at Shipyard Park. You can picnic there any time, but check out the town calendar for special activities during the summer months, including free concerts and square dancing. Whadayamean they don't square dance in New England?

    Friday night dinner
    Six of us went to the Shipyard Park for dinner four of us had been there before and knew what to expect we were seated in one of the smaller dinning rooms which was away from the bar area and the music which suited us as we were able to hear each other. The service was very good the food was up to it's normal standard I had the coconut shrimp to start followed by the marinated inn tips which was all very good everyone enjoyed their dinner I would recommend this restaurant
