Seymour, The Pub, Massachusetts, United States

4.0 (15 reviews) Spent Ranking #1 in Greenfield Bars & Clubs

Good for a lone drink or a hangout.

Love this bar. Lots of local beer, lots of local knowledge, lots of locals. People who know, know. Anyone who complains just doesn't get it. Can the music be too loud? It's a bar. Sometimes. But...it's a bar. No table service? STFU. No table service means nobody keeps bothering you. People eating take out at the bar? AWESOME. BYO food. Again, hush. Bartender on their phone? Maybe if you weren't such a turd they'd pay attention to you. There's a thought. Also, I bet shifts can get boring as chit when you have a group of pretentious fops who worry about table service and take out food. Get a life. Better yet, get a drink somewhere else.

    Cool spot but some issues
This is a good spot with a good vibe. The main complain, and really I considered dropping to 3 stars because of this, is the pour sizes for spirits. People in our group had a variety of Scotches as well as other spirits, and all were poured into 1oz shot containers and not even filled all the way. Paying $8-$12 for 0.95 ounces of a spirit is outrageous. Later in the evening, someone asked for a slightly heavier pour and they got a slightly heavier pour, but were charged as a double, roughly $20 for under 2 ounces. Should look at that a bit more closely since it may not inspire repeat customers.

    Bring extra cash!
We went to the Seymour pub the other night to meet up with some friends. The interior is beautiful! Nicely lit with candles and low hanging lights. The woodwork is stunning and the booths large and comfortable. Both bartenders were attentive and friendly. They have several beers on tap. However, it is unfortunate with all the great local brewery's not one was represented at this pub! We believe it is important to support local employers and farms. We will not return until they are represented at the Seymour Pub. In addition, the prices are what one would expect in downtown Boston, no wonder most booths were empty.
