Robbins Museum of Archaeology, Massachusetts, United States

A great Find for people interested in local Archaeology

The Robins features a larger than expected collection and a welcoming knowledgeable staff. A section is devoted to a twelve thousand year old site in northern Maine, which is the oldest in New England. At least one member of our group visited this site during one of the excavations. The Vail site is the topic of at least one Gramly book, and is also described in a book by Bourque. Anther display explains various techniques used to date artifacts. Hours are very limited and there is free parking across the street. You could request a tour.
