Quinebaug River Water Trail, Massachusetts, United States

Go Back in Time

The water trail is fabulous. Dust off your oars as spring is coming :) The current is slow enough that you can travel from your put in and back. There is always different wildlife to see. Obviously, I don't know if the beavers have been busy as now the river is frozen. And if you like to walk and maybe have a dog, go to the Brimfield Rail Trail. It is a lovely walk which parallels the river.

    Anytime great to walk.
This one of the places that you can find something different every time to go. The surrounding make you feel like you are back it time. Good parking, great after eating your way though Sturbridge.

    National water trail
Very nice spot to canoe or kayak because of the dams you can leave your car at one parking stop and travel in both directions . We started at the boat launch of rt.20 on the Sturbridge /Brimfield line and paddled up stream to Holland pond then back to our car it was a little over 8 miles of very scenic river lot's of birds and not a lot of people. There is a campground on east Brimfield lake so I guess it could get some people on busy weekends. Good for beginners because it's easy to navigate and the current going upstream is very slow
