Newburyport Farmers' Market, Massachusetts, United States

4.5 (6 reviews) Spent < 1 hour Ranking #17 in Newburyport Farmers Markets

Outstanding, diverse items, and fun!

I enjoy farmers markets but often find them overpriced. Newburyport's is outstanding with plentiful items for every budget, great music, and lots of free parking (across the street or lot in back). Whether it is enjoying a loaf of maple walnut banana bread from When Pigs Fly, buying a dinosaur donut or other delicious pastry from Figs, being amazed by strawberry goat cheese ravioli from Valenti Farm, having an array of fresh veggies and fruit at your fingertips, or enjoying local artisans, this market has something for everyone. Open year-round on Sundays from 9am to 1pm (less so in the winter) in front of the Tannery market. Go!! You won't be disappointed.

    Always fun
I live in Newburyport and enjoy frequenting this farmers market on Sundays. My favorite vendors are the local honey, maple syrup, cheeses, wine, guacamole, jewelry, and of course the produce. This is a nice family event. During cold months, it's held inside a heated tent, sometimes with local musicians playing some tunes. Check their website for dates and times as it varies depending on the season.

    Farmers Market at the Tannery
Local farms, local foodies, and crafters ply their wares every Sunday, rain or shine (they have a rain tent) from early morning until 1:00 in the parking at the Tannery. The fresh organic vegetables and fruits are wonderful. My husband calls this the “dog show” as it seems everyone brings a dog or two. Everyone is quite friendly. Treats include fresh, made on site avocado dip, ethic foods including soup, coffees and desserts. There is music, low key, places to sit and relax. The tannery is a refurbished factory that houses a small number of one of a kind shops and cafes. It is just a short walk to downtown Newburyport shops and restaurants and about amile from Plum Island. enjoy!!
