Great for shopping and people watching!
You are here to shop, to eat and to people watch. Parking is definitely a challenge as most of the surrounding streets are set aside for resident permit parking. We were able to find a spot since residential parking permit rules take into effect at 6pm, so read signs carefully. Great shops and nice restaurant options. Allocate a few hours to walk around and enjoy the area. I compare this to Georgetown in DC or Soho in NYC. Packed sidewalks so if you are trying to avoid crowds this isn't for you. Everyone was wearing masks however and I was very impressed by that.

Pretty, diverse retail street in Boston
We met local friends here for an early dinner and one of them said, "Thanks for choosing the most expensive street in Boston to dine!" He was joking, sort of, but don't let that deter you as there is plenty of diversity along Newbury. Great restaurants, my favourite bookstore in the city ('Trident'), unique boutique shops (e.g. 'Newbury Comics') and typical, big-name suppliers (e.g. Arc'Teryx) plus much more. This area is definitely walker-friendly and worth a stroll after brunch/breakfast or pre-dinner for one of your days in town. Something for everyone!
