    Great surprise in Clinton MA
Through a series of events I won't bother you with, I wound up with a couple of passes to this museum. I wasn't really going to even use them, but my wife reminded me one day; so off we went. And I was glad we did. This is a real professionally run operation. We spent two hours here, half of which was at a special display devoted to Russian ballet. Because of the high quality of this exhibit, I plan to keep an eye out for other rotating special exhibits. In the regular exhibit halls, I was amazed that we were able to get up close and personal with carved icons that were hundreds of years old. And the artistry in these unusual items was nothing less than stunning. There are places to sit and to get refreshments. The staff is very approachable and very helpful. This museum is something you would expect to find in Boston, New York or Chicago. One of many pleasant surprises in the little town of Clinton, which sits next to a beautiful reservoir, has some very good restaurants and a beautiful old movie theater. The one thing it could use is some more parking. This museum has none. There is a public lot about a block and a half away and another about four blocks away. I lucked out on some on-street parking in front of the place; but I wouldn't count on that!

    A gem of a museum
A unique, remarkable, enjoyable museum, you will not find a better one of its kind outside Russia. The permanent collection is comprehensive, education, and well organized. The special exhibits are really unique, interesting, and informative.
