This is not a public museum
Please note that the public exhibits are at the Harvard Museum of Natural History. The MCZ is a private research institution and is not open to the public.

The Best Boston Has To Offer
This is a well explained tour through animal relationships and the evolution of life. The specimens and fossils are amazing, and the breadth of collections going back over 150 years is rare. It's a stop I always show my out-of-town guests. Your entry fee also includes the amazing Glass Flowers exhibit, a world-class wonder; and the Mineralogical & Geological Museum, with its beautiful gemstones and minerals collection. Nice little gift shop too. Free to Mass. residents every Sunday morning (year-round) from 9am to noon, and Wednesdays from 3 to 5pm, September through May (need proof of residency). Also free to Mass. teachers and those with a Harvard ID card.
