Lovely conservation area with hiking trails, great view from fire tower
Highest point is about 1200 feet, easy hiking, well-maintained trails. The fire tower gives you great 360 views of the Valley, and Cranberry Pond is a lovely kettle hole for kayaking and fishing. Waterfalls on the east side. Snowshoeing, skating in winter. There is parking along Reservation Rd, enter from the Rte 47 end, not the Rte 63 end, which is not maintained and is closed much of the year.

Beautiful views and Lovely Forested Walks, if Overused and Crowded.
A great place for an afternoon walk to the summit tower and down one of the winding trails back to the parking lot. Like so many places in this area, the stupidity of "scientific forestry management" and just plain too many people have created lots of scars and lots of trails beaten into virtual roads. On weekends, the lot is often overflowing, and you can be sure of encountering at least one person with a pack of aggressive dogs who doesn't have the courtesy to control them, but don't let that stop you. Best on weekdays and rainy days.
