Mass Central Rail Trail

Pleasant walk on stone dust. It’s plenty wide enough for all. It’s been very quiet on all of the days we have walked. It takes about 35 minutes to walk from the beginning to the end. You can get to the pond in about 25 minutes from the Sterling center starting point. There is parking available at the other end.

    Excellent
I have been biking on the rail trail in Sterling for many years. It's an excellent place to relax by the water or to simply get some great exercise in a peaceful atmosphere. I usually bike by myself, but I had the company of my granddaughters join me too. It's also a great place for kids to enjoy the great outdoors.

    Peaceful
The rail trail in Sterling is off Washacum Avenue off Main Street. It’s a beautiful walkway that was formerly a rail bed. It is part of the Massachusetts Rail Trail system. The walkway is well maintained and an easy walk or set your own pace!
